Issued PIPC ruling in investigation into Cinefox Co., Ltd for breach of the Personal Information Act
On 12 April 2023, the Korean Personal Information Protection Commission (PIPC) issued its ruling in the investigation into Cinefox Co., Ltd., online advertising service provider imposing a fine of KRW 15.23 million for violations of the Personal Information Protection Act. In particular, the PIPC found that Cinefox Co., Ltd didn't obtain the legal representative's consent when collecting the personal information of children under the age of 14.
